National Wear Red Day – Go Red For Women

After learning I was pregnant with our beautiful daughter Zoie soon after I learned that I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and high blood pressure as a result of my pregnancy. I had to then become very knowledgeable about what could potentially become a serious life long problem later in life… heart disease.

Heart disease is a killer of women. 1 out of 3 women will be impacted by this disease and it is the #1 killer of women. Let’s continue to support research and learn more about how we can care for ourselves. I myself have started to focus on a more healthy lifestyle after giving birth. Incorporating working out 3 to 5 times a week, eating more fruits and vegetables and of course staying as active as possible with my beautiful little girl.

I want to be around to see her turn 5, to see her turn to 10,  to see her graduate from high school,  to graduate from college and of course to see her be married if she chooses and have her own family. This is a lifelong journey and we have to continue to keep ourselves healthy join me today with National Wear Red.
