As we are approaching our deadline to have our little one every possible bill or fee has crossed our mind. One of the most important ones is how will we save to pay for our newborn to attend college in 18 years.  It seems a long way off, but Thanks to the Oregon Legislature this is one hefty bill we wont have to consider (possibly) in the near future.

According to the Statesman Journal, the new plan signed into law by Governor Kitzhaber would make tuition free attendance possible with a “Pay it forward” system.  Since we are a family of giving back to others and investing in the community we are all for this process.  The same day the bill passed in Oregon the  federal student loan interest rates doubled from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent.

Our dear Zoie has a great opportunity for her future and the opportunity to invest in others after she graduates.
